Molecular assay of sentinal node to predict metastatic breast carcinoma approved by FDA

U.S.based Food and Drug Administration approved molecular-based laboratory test for detecting metastatic breast carcinoma. This test was device was developed and manufactured by Veridex, a Johnson & Johnson Company. This device is called GeneSearch BLN Assay. This test has potential to detect positive sentinal nodes with reasonable accuracy compared to traditional histology.
